Exhibition of the video installation Sounds like the Sound of Music, by Bruce Yonemoto, with illustrations by Raymond Pettibon. This sample was the first official exhibition of Amauta Project and it was strongly supported by the assistance of the public. The production was carried out in 2004, in the frame of Amauta Project and it was supported by the collaboration of Mary Woronov.  It was presented in the Gallery of the Santo Domingo Convent- Koricancha, in the city of Cusco. Project: Andean movies for Andean communities.
Projection of movies by the Bolivian maker Jorge Sanjines in 12 communities of Cusco and Apurimac. August and September 2005. Translation of the movies to Quechua (by the team of collaborators of Amauta Project) and projection of the following movies:

Projections

With the purpose of increasing the limited access of audiovisual productions of recognized quality in the region, and with the disappearance of the principal spaces for cinema in Cusco, which not only awakened the admiration of the spectators, but also the will to carry on projects with audiovisual channels. Amauta project has dedicated a part of its work in the zone of Cusco to the programming of diverse expressions of fictional cinema and documentaries. The principal activities carried out with this purpose have been:

 

(a) Cycle: Cine de lo real

Under the name of Cine de lo Real a cycle of projections of documentaries was carried out in Cusco, many of which are still unknown in Latin-America. The cycle carried out in April 2005, included the projection of 24 documentaries, and was structured in 4 sections:

The team of Amauta Project worked together with Nomade Producciones to conclude the presentation in Cusco of the cycle Cine de lo Real. This project implied various months of work for Amauta in collaboration with the producer already mentioned. This project also meant doing a strong effort to find the support of diverse governmental organizations and private organizations. These would cooperate with money to conclude this cycle. The sponsors managed to cover the following costs:

           • Design and impression of catalogs, posters and notes.
           • The rent of exhibition rooms equipped with audiovisual instruments of high quality..
           • Transportation and travel allowances to cover the costs of representatives from the producer in Cusco.
           • Maintaining the rights of exhibition of the documentaries exhibited.
           • Logistics

For the conclusion of the cycle the projected films were translated to Spanish and its session of exhibition was free of rights of exhibition.

     

(b) Film projections:


Throughout the year 2005 the following films were projected:

Días de Santiago , by Josue Mendez (Peru 2003). This film was presented in Cusco with the participation of its maker.

(c) Presentation of short cycles:

Throughout the year 2005 a series of short film-making cycles, organized thematically. These mini-cycles were created with the purpose of bringing closer to the people diverse tendencies of film-making. It included the following films:
